Not wanting to sound preachy or too much like Cliff Richard but this song has been in my head alot recently, it is uplifting and almost as well written and simple as John Lennons Imagine, If you ever want lifting upĀ when contemplating the world you could listen to this song or read these lyrics. I have highlighted the key lines which I believe could lead to a better more fulfilling life
From a distance,
The world looks blue and green,
And the snow capped mountains so white.
From a distance
The ocean meets the stream,
And the eagle takes to flight.
From a distance, there is harmony
And it echoes through the land.
It’s the voice of hope, it’s the voice of peace,
It’s the voice of every woman.
From a distance,
We all have enough,
And no-one is in need.
There are no guns,
No bombs and no disease
No hungry mouths to feed.
For a moment we must be instruments,
Marching in a common band,
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace,
They’re is the songs of every man
From a distance,
you look like my friend,
Even though we are at war.
From a distance,
I can’t comprehend,
What all this war is for.
What we need is love and harmony,
Let it echo through the land.
It’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves,
It’s the heart of everyone.
It’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves,
It’s the heart of every man.

Ahhh I love film expecially the Cliff Richard classic The Young Ones, it makes you believe that nothingĀ is impossible which is true because if you put your mind to it well what do you know, you got a show, the film is also an interesting prose on the city and expansion how small things can sometimes get swallowed up and how easy it can be to accept and go along the path of money and expansion. This film was released just before the revolts and riots across Europe but focussed in Paris 1968.

I just felt like I should have a page that discussed the value of Cliff Richard to people today, both young and old, “not a lot” might be your immediate thought but I will look to prove you wrong as I begin to form what I hope will become a discussion on the value of the often underestimated icon of culture Cliff Richard.
